That Amazing British Wedding (in Belize) – Belize Wedding Photography

Don’t tell us you haven’t heard about ‘THE’ wedding between a beautiful young woman and a handsome British man in uniform. Of course you have and we are beyond thrilled to tell you that it was in Belize. Not only that, but you are one of the very lucky people, who will be able to get an insider’s perspective on this fabulous event through the eyes of Conch Creative.
That dress! That dress and a waterfall!
That hat and gloves! And sandals. What? Oh! Wait a minute. This wedding will be on the beach. Just a teaser for some cuteness to come. The groom did not wear sandals. God forbid! But, look out for the ring bearer.
Of course, for a ceremony of this magnitude, special arrangements have to made to ensure that there is nothing unsightly to spoil the beauty of this special day. Thank goodness for these hard working Belizeans who cleared the influx of sea grass from the beach. Gotta love them!
A special courier was employed to carry gifts and messages from the bride to the groom and from the groom to the bride. This special courier was, in fact, the photographer. Multi tasking!
Guess who nearly ruined her makeup?
Guess who’s lucky he wasn’t wearing any makeup.
Guess who got their very own gifts to assist with their own make up. Meet the Mums.
Mums are so important at weddings. They do things like this mother of the bride is doing here – ensuring that absent loved ones still get to participate in some of the festivities. Meet the bride’s dog.
More gifts to go round. Dad and the two best men.
Yes! You heard correctly. TWO best men. We did say that this was an extraordinary event.
Dad ensures that everything is as it should be with our handsome soldier’s dress uniform.
The Mums bond while leaving bridal details to the experts.
A blessing by both parents, while making sure that the surprise isn’t spoiled.
OMG! Hold on to your hats. (We hope you’re wearing a hat while you’re reading this. It’s only fitting.) It’s starting.
Like every wedding of this magnitude. Here come the parade of the real stars.
We’re not sure, but we’re thinking there may have been an imbalance in flowers in those baskets. That’s certainly what it looks like is going through the mind of one of these chiffon wrapped cuties.
Never mind because look who is arriving now. Where’s the Paparazzi when you need them?
This tiny star seemed to have been accompanied by a minder to make sure he fulfilled his duties and delivered the rings perfectly. Way to represent little fella!
And here she comes! We’ve all been waiting. No! Don’t cry yet.
Too late. He’s already there. If you haven’t already fetched your hankies, now would be an appropriate time.
This is how they greeted each other. *sniff* *sniff*
It was a perfect day. Even in tropical Belize, the day was just more perfect than most. It had to be.
Now she has a hat. But just for a moment, check out that bouquet. British roses. Could this get any better?
You know it will. We have to admit that even after hundreds of weddings in Belize, the photographer was blown away by this one.
Unfortunately, not everyone was on board though.
Right now, the order of the day is to get legal.
We don’t normally post group shots, but look at them. How could we not share this with you?
A Belizean throne for a little sit down.
Romantic photo time. The secret waterfall of San Pedro. Oh yes.
That secret waterfall is located in the secret jungle.
From beach to mysterious and magical. Absolutely fitting for such a day.
Yes. This really happened. He washed her feet. He did. Hang on while we swoon.
In typical San Pedro style, off they go in their Belizean limo. ‘But why’? We hear you declare. ‘Where are they going? Don’t let this day end!’ you implore.
But there’s cake. They must go to their cake. And so…
…we leave you with this last, photo, just to remind you of this day, this blog, this wedding and this amazing British wedding in Belize. Like you’d even forget.
This gorgeous wedding was organised and hosted by Xanadu Island Resort
La Isla bon Epic – An epic Belize Wedding – Part 2.

If you saw part 1 of this blog, then you’ll know how much fun we had with this couple all around San Pedro Town. It was one of most popular blogs ever. We promised you a part 2 and here it is. This is the wedding – and of course, all beach weddings in Belize are pretty spectacular, so please join us while we share this couple’s special day in paradise.
We’re sure you can guess from this photo that there are going to be a couple of cuties involved.
Here’s one of them having some appetisers and building up her strength for the excitement ahead.
And here is the other one making sure she looks perfect.
Now that the cuties are fed and polished, it’s time for the bride to start thinking about her own primping and prepping.
Let’s not forget the fellows. If the bride can make the effort, so should the groom and this one truly did – he looked so dapper.
Seriously, could this wedding be any cuter, more colourful or prettier?
Maybe not, but it could get a lot more fun from the looks of it.
Girl bonding time is always important when your family and friends come all this way.
Especially when the groom is happy to hold the bouquet.
But as always, there comes a time when we have to drag the happy couple away for some romantic photos.
Oh my! They are a great looking couple.
And they are perfectly matched.
So, when they had a quiet time together as the sun started to go down, we suddenly realised that they were very like their two little cuties because what they really wanted to do was get back for some very epic……
This epic wedding was organised and hosted by Xanadu Island Resort.
La Isla Bon-epic! An Epic Belize Wedding – Part 1

You are having a destination wedding. You’ve picked the magical, tropical, paradise of Belize. You are going to have your wedding on the famous island Ambergris Caye, more commonly known by the name of its only town, San Pedro – or even more famously known as ‘La Isla Bonita’ (oh yes, Madonna dreamt of us last night!). You know you want the whole getting married on the beach experience, with the turquoise Caribbean Sea twinkling in the background and palm trees. But then you say to yourself ‘Wait a minute! I’m going all the way to this interesting and beautiful country and I’m just going to get photos on the beach. That’s simply not good enough! I want more!’ And more you shall get – because Conch Creative loves to show our couples the real Belize. Oh yeah, we take photos too and here are some from one of our most epic wedding adventures.
There are a number of luxury vehicles available to transport our lucky couples around the island.
Golf carts are the most common form of transportation.
Once you get into the quaint, colourful and quirky town of San Pedro, there are all sorts of fun things to do but first you want to make sure you look your very best. So getting a pair of new shoes is a good place to start.
Followed by a smart haircut – or polish, whichever the case may be.
If you’re lucky, some of the friendly islanders might even lend you a clean pair of underpants.
And then it’s just a matter to find somewhere private to change into them.
Once you’re all dressed and ready to go, it’s time to take a stroll to the park.
Climb up high to take in the view. (just a note here – not many places in the world where the children’s public playground overlooks a barrier reef. Just sayin!)
Hang around and enjoy some fun activities.
Familiarise yourselves with the local animal life.
Take in some of the local art.
And contemplate its deeper meaning.
Don’t forget about the unique architecture. Seriously though, Belize is so much more than it’s beaches and jungle. It’s about the people and, of course, the Isla Bonita life.
When all is said and done you may just feel like this bride did –
“I can’t speak highly enough for the amazing experience you have given us. From day 1, your email communications were prompt, detailed & polite. The actual photography experience was a joy & you were both so carefree and easy to work with. We will never forget the fun we had with you during our Isla Bonita experience. To be honest, it was quite possibly one of our favorite moments while in Belize…. having no kids was a huge relief, but also laughing until we cried & having the opportunity to see the most interesting sites on the island was much appreciated. I’ve been to Belize 100 times and have never experienced San Pedro in that way. Im glad to hear you had fun too 🙂 I am speechless at how well the pictures have turned out & we will cherish these for the rest of our lives. Words cannot describe how thankful we are. “
Look out for Part 2 of this blog featuring the actual gorgeous wedding at Xanadu Island Resort.
Coming soon.
Happy Feet – Belize Weddings
If you’ve joined Conch Creative in the past for adventures with our fabulous wedding couples, you’ll know that we have an obsession with shoes. As wedding photographers in Belize, most couples enjoy wiggling their toes in the sand with a barefoot beach wedding, but just occasionally, we get lucky with a great pair of shoes. Well, you can imagine our absolute delight when this wedding not only featured a spectacular pair of shoes – but matching socks as well. Of course, we sincerely believe that happy feet make for a very happy couple.
So, let’s see just how happy this couple (and their feet) seemed to be. Well, they seem pretty happy here.
There is no doubt in our minds that these are very happy people. OK, they’ve ditched the shoes, but by this time their toes had been tantalised.
Ooh..can you say ‘Happily Married’?
It certainly seems that you can!
A happiness inspired tropical wedding pole dance. Now, that’s a celebration.
The excitement just got a bit too much for a moment and we thought we’d lost them…
But then the famous Belizean Four Armed Wedding Creature of the Sea appeared and all was well again.
But then someone went and left the bride on a pedestal and where is her tall, handsome hubby?
Oh! There he is – hanging with the well known ‘Orange Sock Gang’.
Aha! The perfect chance to sneak off and do some shopping from the lovely Maya ladies.
Finally, it’s time to ride off into the sunset! We wish this lovely couple a wonderful life together and we know they’ll have fun because they have happy feet!
Come to Belize and make your own feet very happy – whether you are a barefoot bride or a shoe – a – holic – there really is no better place to get married in paradise.
This beautiful wedding was hosted by the gorgeous Xanadu Island Resort.

Belize Wedding – Kisses, Kitties and Cigars
As wedding photographers in Belize, we get to meet so many wonderful people and that, aside from working in paradise, is what makes our job so very special. This couple were not just gorgeous, but their whole family were super fun, so we’ve decided to take you on a journey with us through their special day, starting behind the scenes. We know you’ll love it as much as we did.
Wherever you are, the bridal preparations are of the utmost importance. There are rituals and unctions involved to beautify the bride and make her feel special.
But one secret ritual you may not have known is that all of the brides maids stick rubber cigars into their hair. We think it might bestow them with magic powers. Meanwhile……
…the groom is initiating his sister into the secret world of the male ritual. Instead of putting plastic cigars in their hair, they attempt to smoke real ones.
Hmm. Maybe it is best to stick with the plastic hair cigars.
So, once the secret behind the scenes rituals end, the guests get to enjoy the traditions of a wedding union…except they get to enjoy it on a paradise island overlooking the Caribbean. Can anyone say – ‘Getting married in paradise takes it to the next level”?
Sticking with tradition, the bride and groom make sure to greet and thank all of their guests.
Conch Creative encourages couples to relax, throw tradition into the wind and escape for some romantic alone time to make the best of the beauty of Belize. So, here we go!
First some time to contemplate and regroup.
Then some time for a romantic interlude.
Then a chance to explore the local sights and architecture….
…and finally time for a little sit down. Full of love, smiles and joy, this couple definitely have the most amazing memories from their beautiful wedding in Belize.
We very much enjoyed our time with them and we hope you did too. Come to Belize, fall in love, get married, smoke a cigar, chat to a cat, sit on a dock, celebrate with your loved ones and have an unforgettable experience in paradise.
This beautiful ceremony was arranged and hosted by the quite fantastic Xanadu Island Resort.

Wet Weddings
As you can probably see from recent blogs, Conch Creative works with a lot of couples who like unique and different wedding photography. Maybe it’s something to do with Belize – after all, couples are planning to travel thousands of miles to marry in this beautiful country. Whatever the reason, we’re grateful because we get the opportunity to work with people who are often creative, always great fun and who have chosen us because they know that Conch Creative is one hundred percent committed to providing not just an enjoyable and entertaining wedding photography experience but also because they know that they’ll never look better than they do through Conch Creative’s lenses.
This adorable couple were serious divers and had come to Ambergris Caye with a diving group to get married at Xanadu Island Resort. They wanted to get wet and of course, Conch Creative obliged.
We managed to keep them out of the water just long enough for them to get legal and have one or two snaps taken.
It seems that the romance just becomes even more intense once the couples get into the water…..
Sometimes giggling is the only option..but there really is no better way to spend a wedding day full of fun, love, laughs and plenty of memories.
After all water, romance and giggling – we thought it was time to share something a little bit different. Those who know Conch Creative, also know that we don’t just do weddings.
If you’d like to find out more about Conch Creative, please check out our Facebook page where we can chat to you, you can leave us your comments and you get sneak peaks of all of our newest work. Conch Creative Facebook Page Link

Vive la différence
Weddings in Belize inspire couples to ‘do their own thing’. Belize, of course, is a magical place for a destination wedding and the freedom of celebrating a marriage in such a romantic and exotic location allows people to relax, be themselves and have fun with it.
It starts with the seemingly little things such as decorations and party favours. These fans were the perfect treat for guests celebrating in the tropical sun.
While, these adorable, personalised beach tote bags, ideal for La Isla Bonita, were so much fun and the guests had something useful that would remind them of the wedding for years to come.
San Pedro is best known as a barefoot wedding destination and some girls just LOVE their shoes. It can be a bit tricky wearing heels on the beach, but you can’t blame a girl for trying.
The more laid back ladies opt for simple and sparkly flip flops. They still feel a bit dressy but are comfortable and fun.
Whatever shoes they bring, most brides end up kicking off their shoes to enjoy the sand between their toes as a genuine ‘barefoot bride’.
We can’t mention ‘la différence’ without including the classic battle of the sexes. Women and men have much different ways of celebrating before a ceremony. The girls make themselves beautiful and toast with champagne.
Meanwhile – the guys find somewhere to hang out in the shade.
Even the guests can vary wildly. Some guests are flat packed and stuck in the ground. They are very well behaved and hardly eat anything at all. You definitely don’t have to share the cake with them.
Other guests, which turn up frequently to weddings in Belize, are uninvited, hairy and have four legs. Fortunately most couples we work with love dogs and are perfectly happy to share some of their goodies with their new best friend. Almost every wedding we’ve photographed in San Pedro has had cute local dogs as gate crashers.
Then there are the choices of all the stunning locations. Some are attracted by the sea. They love being by the water and want nothing more than a beach wedding.
Others love the mystery of the ancient Maya ruins on the mainland of Belize. With the Maya people and their calendar receiving so much press lately because of a surging interest in ‘end of the world’ predictions, ruins weddings are becoming popular amongst adventurous couples who want to do something completely different.
Some couples choose to make their wedding a virtual multi destination affair. So preparations start in one place.
Then there really is nothing that makes a girl feel spoiled than having her own private boat arrive to pick her up to whisk her to the next location, where she will continue to prepare.
This is where the serious preparations happen – with beautiful results.
You might recognise these feet from earlier in the blog. The rest of the couple was so cute, that we had to show you the whole picture!
We also try to keep our portraits a little ‘different’ if the couple so desire. Many of our clients come to us because they want contemporary, funky and fun images rather than conventional and traditional. So we do our best to bring out the inner Vanity Fair model in our brides and…..
…the inner GQ model in our grooms. Didn’t he scrub up well?
If you’ve kept up with our blog, you’ll know that we aren’t just ‘one trick ponies’. We do a lot more than wedding photography and we love “la différence”
We are inspired by the beauty surrounding us in Belize – both the people and the scenery.
We even find beauty in the chili peppers.
But ultimately, as much as we like to be different – who can resist a pretty, semi clad woman on a deserted sand bar? Conch Creative does a wide range of private and personal shoots. Many women choose to do a glamour shoot with Conch Creative because the images created make them feel great about themselves.
Two of the beautiful weddings featured in this blog were organised by ‘I DO’ Belize Weddings. They have featured the Maya ruins wedding and Conch Creative photography in their own blog, which you can find here: ‘I DO’ Belize Weddings Blog
Conch Creative would also like to extend special thanks to Mary Gonzalez and the San Pedro Sun for doing a feature story on the Maya ruins wedding at Xunantunich. You can find that wedding here: Maya Ruins Wedding – San Pedro Sun
All of the weddings in this blog are recent. The locations include the following resorts Xanadu Island Resort, Blue Tang Inn, Capricorn Resort and Pelican Reef Villas. The Maya ruin wedding location was Xunantunich in the Cayo District of Belize
