The Thing About Paradise…. – Belize Wedding
There is something about paradise. Maybe we’re biased. We work in a place we believe is paradise. We live in a place we believe is paradise. We spend the happiest days of people’s lives with them in a place we believe is paradise. The thing about paradise is that it is beautiful in so many ways. Probably a bit like love. We guess this is why paradise + love is such a great match and why people choose to get married in Belize.
Dresses seem, somehow, much dressier in paradise
Even bling has a way of being even blingier in paradise.
Love from your family is even lovelier in paradise.
Your groom’s cheeky smile looks even cheekier in paradise.
An aisle lined with tropical flowers certainly seems more tropical in paradise. Oh and no one has to buy new shoes for the wedding!
Smiles are smilier in paradise.
The palm trees…well, the palm trees are ridiculously palmy in paradise.
Even the seaweed manages to be extraordinarily seaweedy and even quite beautiful in paradise.
And you know what’s even crazier about paradise? The fish are not fishier and they are always biting. So, even if you’ve already got the best fish in the sea – paradise in Belize is waiting for you.

My Secret Promise – Destination Belize Weddings

If you’re familiar with our blog, you’ll know that we love telling cute and fun stories with our destination wedding photography from beautiful Belize. We thought we’d try something different with this one and look forward to hearing what you think. We love the arts and we love supporting other artists. If there are any artists that can vividly capture ‘love’ with their work, it is poets and something about this couple made us feel very poetic. So, this is the first romantic poet we’d like to feature, Viyanga Gunasekera and his poem, My Secret Promise.
I ran in blessed drizzle,
I walked across the silver deserts.
I dived under golden sun gleams, and
I passed thousand of seas;
To get to the Seven Gates.
Sometimes I was lost in a crowd
But I felt your love’s power
Pulling me towards you all the time.
Will we be able to survive together?
For this world is a flaring place
But I’ll gladly take the chance, for
You are the only one I love till eternity.
I stopped, and saw the empty skies above,
A graveyard with a newly buried couple,
A dark cloud wandering lonely.
But the silver line in it,
Manifested the diamond necklace I gave you.
Then came a fresh breeze
I felt your sweet voice and divine aroma in it.
So I saw you in a sea of roses,
In a blossoming bud,
In a luminous sunbeam,
In a fragrant wind,
And then everywhere.
Suddenly there were colors and songs in the atmosphere.
An angel was sprinkling magical dust
A cupid was shooting arrows of flowers.
My heart leaped out
For I saw my Cinderella…………
She’s a divine Goddess, I was feared to touch.
She had lit a lamp for me
But I was the one who burnt all the time.
She does not know…………………………
Her voice filled my vacant ears,
Her magical eyes stung in my heart,
Her glittering smile made haloes in me.
She was my secret promise…………..
The flames that burned in my heart,
Now have become caressing petals.
I removed my heart and gave to her,
She wore it on her wedding finger.

10 Steps to Having a Fearless and Fabulous Beach Wedding – Belize Weddings

There must be something about Conch Creative that attracts the most fearless and fabulous weddings and we’re certainly not complaining. So, what makes a wedding both fearless and fabulous?
1. Have a great hair dresser, with great hair spray. Barefoot beach weddings are undoubtedly wonderful things but the salt air, humidity and wind can be the ruination of even the most fabulous hair style.
2. Think about details. Details can make or break fabulous events and photographs.
3. Share the excitement. Whether you are having a family wedding, or a secret elopement, make sure there is someone you can share your excitement with. Kiss your Mum or call your BFF, either way, sharing is caring.
4. Keep some mystery to the day. Even if you’ve lived together for 10 years before getting married, this day is ‘special’ and surprises make it even more magical.
5. Bring a pair of heels for fun. It may be a barefoot wedding, but there are so many other things that a girl can do with a nice pair of heels. These heels and this photo even won an international photography award from Fearless Photographers.
6. Kiss. Kiss a lot. Kissing is healthy, good, clean fun and should be encouraged at all times.
7. Enjoy the natural environment and beauty. If you come all the way to Belize for your wedding, make sure to take time to look around you.
8. Bring sunglasses. You’re in the tropics. You’ll need them.
9. Smile. There is nothing more fabulous than smiling.
10. Let your hair down, don’t be precious about your dress and get wet!
This about sums it up folks. If you’re going to come to Belize to get married, be Fearless and be Fabulous and definitely, definitely, get wet!
Because if you don’t get wet, you’ll never get photos like this…
…or this and when you look back through your photos in 20 years, think about the ones that will still take your breath away.
This gorgeous wedding was hosted by stunning Belizean Cove Estates
The Trash the Dress shoot was at the beautiful Victoria House

Real Island Adventures – Belize Weddings
This is another real destination wedding love story and adventure. Our couple not only love each other, but like most of our amazing wedding couples, they love Belize. We’re so excited to share their wedding adventure with you. We get to work with so many adventurous people who want to do something exciting, want to find out about our beautiful island jewel, Ambergris Caye, and of course who want Conch Creative along for the ride to help them create memories that they will always treasure. Welcome to the world of real island adventures.
It all starts with a patient groom, enjoying the brew of Belize, Belikin. Belikin is well known to calm nerves and cause smiling. If you drink too many, we take no responsibility for the adventures you may have.
With your bride on the way, even an ice cold Belikin won’t distract you.
And when you see her in her dress for the first time, it starts to get real.
The adventure begins with the first day of the rest of your lives, shared with your loved ones.
A sand ceremony doesn’t make it legal in Belize, but it makes it feel even more real. (or is that surreal?)
But it can’t get more real than this special moment.
Oooh it’s getting really, really real now.
Now it’s legal and the next part of the adventure begins!
This is a very typical Belizean wooden home and would be a great place to start a family we think.
Speaking of families, there always have to be cute children and puppies on any adventure.
And there certainly is no shortage of curious children in San Pedro Town.
Speaking of children, who doesn’t want to dress up like a fire fighter?
So many cute things to see on such a small island.
You can play dress up at the gift shops.
You can pretend to be eaten by a giant jaguar.
Mmmmmmmmmm. You can have ice cream. No wonder the kids all look so happy here.
When all is said and done, it’s all about the two of you.
In Belize, there is always somewhere beautiful to remind you just how lucky you are.
This real island adventure started at Victoria House. Many thanks to them for hosting this gorgeous ceremony.
If you love any of the other locations, just ask us. We’ll be happy to show you around.
While you’re at it, come and see us at our Facebook page. It’s real too! Click Here
Brides, Bare Feet and Bikinis in Belize – Belize Weddings

People who get married in Belize are often of an adventurous spirit. They want to do something amazing, beautiful and exotic. While we love our conventional couples, we truly love working with those who do something different and personal. This couple did just that. They completely personalised their Belize wedding experience by doing it a little bit local, bringing a bit of their own style with them and then just throwing caution to the wind and being themselves. Sand ceremonies are something that allows the couple to take home a bit of Belize with them and allow all of their loved ones to participate.
Bringing something of your own culture with you to Belize also helps to make a wedding truly unique and memorable.
Details can add so much to the ambiance of a wedding celebration, so sometimes bringing down that extra suitcase with some personal touches makes all the difference.
Combining some tropical, exotic flowers with glamorous silverware can truly turn an event into something unique.
Beautiful smiles ensure that even though every detail is perfect, the celebration will be a success.
…and some local scenery and you have the perfect recipe for a very special day. But what do you do afterwards?
Oh my! That’s right. It’s time to throw off the formalities and get a bit sexy – because now it’s the honeymoon.
The honeymoon is less about details and more about fun …and a bit of sauciness too! What better way to surprise your new husband.
We see no complaints from this one.
OK we did have to include just one last completely gratuitous photo of this quite stunning bride in her bikini. We wish this extremely happy couple all the very best for the future. They were so very much in love.
This beautiful wedding was hosted by the gorgeous Las Terrazas Resort.
The couple went on to have their honeymoon and honeymoon shoot at the fabulous Victoria House.
If you enjoyed these wedding and honeymoon photos, you might just fancy our Facebook Page, which you can find right here. We share all sorts of sneak previews, recent shoots and photos of Belize . We also encourage much mirth and a little bit of naughty behaviour. So, please join us.
Crazy in Love
If you follow our blog, you’ll know that we love fun and unconventional weddings. We have been very much looking forward to blogging this particular wedding as we laughed so hard throughout the day that we came back with our cheeks aching. This was a couple who were crazy in love and that craziness was definitely a feature of their romantic beach wedding on Ambergris Caye. So, please join us for Sean and Denise’s destination wedding in beautiful Belize.
As is often the case, it all starts with booze! The groom, featured here with our local Belizean Belikin Beer, hung out with the guys at Crazy Canuck’s bar, while the bride….
…required something a tad stronger resulting, of course, in the classic Tequila face.
As part of their nuptials, Denise and Sean included a Sand Ceremony. Normally at weddings, there isn’t a dry eye in the house. During this one, there wasn’t a straight face on the beach.
Then it was time for group pictures. We work really hard to help our couples to have fun group shots as they can be so boring sometimes. In this instance no encouragement was necessary. We all know that after the group shots come the family shots and here’s one that we will never forget.
We’d like to introduce you to the Mother of the Groom.
So we thought that once we got the lovely couple away from the group, things would calm down a bit. For a moment, they were as cute as buttons snuggled up on their golf cart. But that didn’t last for long.
What could we do but take a picture? But now we were on a mission. We always want to give our bride romantic photos, no matter how ‘crazy in love’ she really is. So we waved our magic ‘Conch’ and got them in the mood.
Turns out that when we got her to sit still for a minute, Denise was absolutely a very gorgeous bride.
But he couldn’t resist his gorgeous bride and settled down for a beautiful moment with her…until…….
….he found a Sea Cucumber. Oh yes he did. You can imagine the comparisons that were made and the giggling that ensued.
As usual, the bride had the last laugh and gave us this wonderful photo, which we just adore. Thank you Denise.
If you enjoyed this blog, you might enjoy our Facebook Page too. Give it a try by just clicking here. That’s where we post our most current work and publish sneak previews.
Special thanks to Exotic Caye Beach Resort for hosting this beautiful wedding.
Even specialer thanks to Crazy Canucks Bar for lending us the stools for the group shot.
And specialerer thanks to Victoria House for allowing us to use their beautiful beach for the after ceremony shoot.
If we’ve forgotten even more specialererer thanks, please let us know. Conch Creative wants everyone to feel loved and appreciated – even if a Sea Cucumber makes you feel small.
The Spice of Photography
As wedding photographers in Belize, Conch Creative are always grateful that we get the opportunity to attend and document romantic and fabulous weddings. As artists, we are always evolving and looking for new inspiration. Last year we were privileged to be invited to provide official photographs for the Miss San Pedro pageant. All of the girls were intelligent, poised, charming and absolutely beautiful. Natasha Stuart won the title of Miss San Pedro 2010/2011 and we believe this image is a wonderful representation of her metamorphosis from the young lady we met last year to the woman she is becoming. As she rises from the water, with her wings spread, ready to take flight, she is heading for a brilliant future. She is currently a college student and we can see that she has amazing opportunities laying ahead of her.
Liliana Mia Nunez was once the reigning Miss San Pedro. She has since gone on to develop a successful career in fitness training. When Conch Creative photographs Belizean women, we like to portray not only their beauty but immense strength. Liliana represents all of those things. As a community, we in San Pedro were extremely proud that she represented Belize as Miss Belize in the International Costa Maya Festival. We had so much fun working with her on this shoot – and work we did. Not only did it take excellent balancing skills, but a considerable amount of bravery for Liliana to give us this image.
These images are previews and there will be many more amazing Conch Creative images of these incredible women being released in the near future. If you’d like to see more of Liliana and Natasha, they will be appearing on our Facebook page – Conch Creative Facebook Page – and eventually on our website – Conch Creative Website .
Conch Creative wedding photography has been extremely busy this year and March has brought marriage madness with it. We certainly are not complaining and felt obliged to share some of our recent weddings with you. This is Terri and Glenn. They got married at sunset on a sandbar in the middle of nowhere, with only three guests in attendance on Valentine’s Day. They were so in love it was absolutely touching and everyone shed a tear when they read their very personal vows.
Sandbars are a unique location for an intimate tropical wedding in Belize. While the there isn’t much in terms of scenery, who needs it when the love virtually pops out of the photograph and kisses you on the nose.
But of course when there is scenery, everyone takes advantage of it. This is Jenn and Todd. They were married at the tasteful and beautiful Victoria House resort. They were just lovely people – laid back, wonderful to work with and great fun.
Doing wedding photography in Belize, we get some unusual requests for family and group shots. This was one of our most unusual. Todd and Jenn had some relatives who were absent for a variety of reasons. They were gathered together on this table – their sister attending by Skype.
Jenn had a gorgeous wedding dress, which we felt deserved its very own portrait.
Of course Conch Creative ‘hearts’ weddings in Belize. It seems that Mother Nature does too!
The variety is never ending for photographers in Belize and the smile of a child is always food for inspiration. This young man came all the way from Cayo for his six month portrait shoot with Conch Creative. He couldn’t stop smiling – and I’m sure it helped that he had four adults making absolute fools of themselves for his benefit.
While we love taking pictures of people, there is a special magic to commercial and resort photography in Belize. This is Ramon’s Village Resort, one of the oldest and most established resorts in San Pedro, at night.
..and this is Coco Beach Resort, one of San Pedro’s newest resorts at night.
Because variety is indeed the spice that gives Conch Creative it’s very unique flavour, we end with this image, taken at Sailsports Belize. Amazing kiteboarding stunts truly gave us that wonderful kick that only the spiciest of dishes provide…and we all know that Belize is a country that loves everything hot and spicy.
Until next time, Conch Creative thanks you all for taking the time to read our blog and enjoy our photos. If you like our work, please do share it and maybe even join our Conch Creative Facebook Page – Conch Creative spicy link
We have some important thank yous and shout outs to give here.
Many thanks to Caye Winds and Caribbean Villas for providing us with fantastic locations for our shoots with Liliana and Natasha.
Thanks to Bradley Mazin for his outrageous kiteboarding skills.
Thanks to our brides and grooms for making our job easy and enjoyable.
And thanks to all of the models, resorts and even kids who share a little bit of themselves with us and become part of Conch Creative as a result.
Welcome to San Pedro – The perfect location for destination beach wedddings
If you’ve been following our blog, you’ll know that Conch Creative are Belize wedding photographers, specialising in beach weddings. Of course we also do other photography and we like to spice things up a little bit on our blog by sharing some of that with you too so that you can experience Belize as a location for your dream destination wedding. Welcome to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize
This is the beach in front of Ramon’s Village. There are some beautiful beaches on Ambergris Caye and this certainly is one of them.
Just in case you were wondering what Ramon’s Village might look like from above, here is a bird’s eye view taken from one of our cute little Cessna island hoppers.
As wedding photographers in Belize, we are often asked ‘What do you do if it rains?’. Of course, we say ‘We have to sacrifice a virgin to the Maya Rain God – Chac’. We’re proud to introduce you to Chac. He can be found lounging around the pool at Ramon’s Village.
Of course, where you find one Maya god, you’ll find others – sometimes hiding in the most unlikely places, like this watermelon!
Of course taking pictures can make you hungry, especially when the food looks as good as this. Could it be the incredible leaning tower of shrimp? The chef at Pineapple’s Restaurant knows how to wield a skewer for sure!
Ok, with Valentine’s Day around the corner, we couldn’t cheat you all out of a little love and romance. Stephanie and Edwin had some friends and family come to join them for their beautiful beach ceremony at Victoria House. Another of our fabulous Caribbean beaches ideal for that dream barefoot wedding. (except that Edwin wore shoes!)
Beach weddings in Belize tend to be incredibly romantic. You would think that being wedding photographers, we would get bored, but we shed a tear with every couple, sharing their happiness.
It’s hard not to feel the love when two people are so truly enamoured with one another.
A lacy dress, a white beach, glowing with happiness – it is easy to see why Edwin is totally smitten with Stephanie…
…that he couldn’t help but sweep her off her feet for one and all to see!
So come and join us in exotic, romantic and beautiful Belize for your destination beach wedding…you never know what you’ll find around every corner…or what magic it might bring into your lives.
