The Mystery of the Maya Gods and the Missing Dress – Belize Wedding & Trash the Dress
Mangroves are trees that grow in the sea. They hold our little island together and act as a nursery for the baby fish that will eventually grow up to be the big fish that populate the reef, which happens to be the second largest barrier reef in the Northern Hemisphere (the first being the Great Barrier Reef in Australia). While many of the mangroves have been destroyed to accommodate the preference for sandy beaches, there are small pockets of them to be found along the Caribbean coast of Ambergris Caye, Belize. We could get all metaphorical here and wax lyrical about symbolism of the circle of life and love and the earth…but instead we’ll just let you enjoy this dreamy scene.
There is plenty of fun to be had with the Maya Gods. We’re not sure if sitting on Chac, the Rain God’s head, makes it more or less likely to rain but we do appreciate his patience in posing for this shot.
This beautiful wedding was hosted by Ramon’s Village Resort.
